King von Karben is a gorgeous and gentle 4-5 year old long-haired German Shepherd who has quite a tale to tell. When he found himself outside on his own during a storm in the Central Valley, he cleverly found a dog door and entered someone's home. Imagine their surprise upon discovering a "bear" in their bathtub! (They had other dogs so maybe he followed them in.) King is adjusting nicely at the rescue and is a true "gentle soul" with a calm, sweet nature who loves human connection. His absolute favorite place to be is right at your feet, soaking up petting and attention. He has been a quiet, low key presence so far, and is easy to take for walks. King is a polite greeter with other dogs but generally prefers the company of calm companions over higher-energy play. He did pass initial cat testing.
